André Gorz and Our Youth

Abstract


André Gorz died in September 2007. He is well known to English readers on the Left through works such as Farewell to the Working Class (1982), Paths to Paradise (1985), and Reclaiming Work (2000). He was cofounder of the weekly publication Le Nouvel Observateur, where he wrote under the pen name Michel Bosquet. In the final piece in this issue, Alain Lipietz pays tribute to Gorz and reflects on their youth during the 1960s and on subsequent developments of their intellectual thought.
